Very hot temperatures are arriving on the South Plains

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD)- This morning skies will be partly cloudy and warm. Low temperatures for the day are expected to be in the low 60s. Skies are expected to be partly cloudy this afternoon and temperatures will be hot. Isolated thunderstorms are likely late in the day and through the evening hours. Hail and strong winds are possible with stronger storms. Highs for today will be in the low to mid 90s. As the sun sets this evening there is a chance for isolated thunderstorms, otherwise skies will be mostly cloudy.

Thursday will be hot with partly cloudy skies. The eastern areas will have a slight chance of thunderstorms. The high for Thursday is expected to be in the mid 90s.

Friday will be mostly sunny and hot, with a high temperature near 100 degrees.

This weekend temperatures will range from 100 to 105 degrees.
