One dead, one behind bars after stabbing

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Police arrested Aaron Rashad Dial, 23, and charged him with the murder of Christopher Clark, 36.

Officers were called to the Cricket Court Apartments at 1102 58th Street around 2:30 p.m. after reports of a stabbing. Clark was stabbed in the neck and taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses say an altercation turned violent in the parking lot. Investigators are working to determine if Dial and Clark knew each other and who exactly was involved. Detectives interviewed several people down at the police department.

Traffic accident investigators were called to the scene to survey the crime scene and map it out.

Dozens of people gathered around the scene in the south parking lot at the apartment complex and multiple units responded to control the crowd. "When something like that occurs there tends to be a large gathering and when officers arrived they were dealing with a lot of subjects some were not involved in the altercation. In these situations there are a lot of emotions and the possibility and propensity for things to get worse and out of hand," says Captain Greg Stevens.

Dial is behind bars on a $500,000 bond and charged with murder.
