ABILENE, TX (KCBD) - In Abilene Saturday, the Estacado Matadors beat Burnet 7-0 to win their 3A Regional Final two games to none and punch their ticket to the State Tournament.
Mick Limon got the win striking out nine. The Matadors beat the Bulldogs in Thursday's Game 1 4-0.
Estacado heads to State for the first time since 1982. The Matadors will play in the 3A State Semifinals Wednesday Disch-Falk Field in Austin.
#6 Estacado (31-7) faces #2 Pleasant Grove (35-2) at 4pm Wednesday and #1 Giddings (32-2-1) takes on #5 Jaspar (35-5) at 7pm Wednesday.
The State Championship is at 1pm on Thursday.
