Lubbock driver barely escapes train collision

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock driver is lucky to walk away after a bizarre accident at a Lubbock train track.

It happened just before 10 a.m. Monday morning, on east 34th STreet, between Avenue A and Martin Luther King Blvd.

Police tell KCBD NewsChannel 11 that the driver of a pickup truck was stopped for flashing lights at a train crossing, when a car rear-ended it. The driver of the truck hit the gas, and cleared the tracks with seconds to spare.

EMS took the driver of the car to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the truck did not have any injuries.
