LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Wednesday morning stabbing in southeast Lubbock sent one woman to the hospital and landed a man in jail. Lubbock Police tell KCBD that the victim's ex-boyfriend got into her home at 513 East 78th Street and stabbed her several times.
Authorities were called to scene around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday. Police tell us 42-year-old Irma Holder went to University Medical Center, but her wounds did not appear life-threatening. They say she was able to identify the suspect before going to the hospital.
Investigators say it's Holder's ex-boyfriend. They say he got into the her bedroom and stabbed her multiple times, and then fled. Investigators say it doesn't look like he forced his way inside, but they're still working to figure out how he got in and what weapon he used.
Police arrested the suspect, Jose Bustamante, 48, shortly after, at another home near 50th Street and Avenue A. That's just a few blocks north of crime scene.
Right now, police tell us Bustamante is charged with aggravated assault, but he could face more charges. Holder has since been released from the hospital.
