A new report out Friday claims a deal may have been reached in the Tulia drug bust to release the 13 people still in jail. The Amarillo Globe-News reports defense attorneys and special prosecutors will offer the recommendation to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
The convictions came into question amid allegations of racial discrimination by lone undercover investigator, Tom Coleman. In a recent hearing, a judge determined Coleman lacked credibility as a witness.
Last month Coleman was indicted for lying during his testimony.
