Lubbock Cooper pleased with "amazing" TAKS results

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock Cooper ISD says its TAKS results are at or above last year's results for each category and each student group.

"What's amazing with these scores is the fact that we grew by over 300 students this year," says Superintendent Pat Henderson. "These students are coming in here from out of district, out of state, and might not have the same instructional program or the same instruction focus as Lubbock Cooper."

"In my opinion, it's just amazing," Henderson continues. He adds that LCISD has grown by more than 800 students in 3 years.

Henderson says all campuses in the district are either recognized or exemplary, which is the minimum goal.  Henderson say LCISD has been close to its ultimate goal of having all campuses rated as exemplary.

According to an email statement from the district, the summary scores are as follows:

  • Reading/ELA 99
  • Math 96
  • Writing 98
  • Social Studies 100
  • Science 98

* These are TPM scores.
