LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – We all know it can be dangerous to live your life as a couch potato and never get any exercise, but what about sitting on the couch for a couple of hours? A new study indicates just sitting even for a couple of hours can promote changes in your health and not for the better.
"There's some evidence to suggest you know that is enough to increase their blood sugar, to decrease their good cholesterol and to have a real impact on their health," said Travis Saunders, with CHEO Research Institute.
The good news is even small interruption, just getting up from your desk to walk around can help counteract the harmful effects of sitting for too long.
