LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - New details are released in a deadly crash in South Lubbock where a car drove off an overpass.

First responders took three people to the hospital after a car drove off the overpass at 98th and the Tahoka highway around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

AeorCare landed a chopper on the northbound access roads to transport one of the victims. Police tell us two passengers, 96-year-old Myrtle Porter and 76-year-old Lois Porter died at the hospital. The driver, 75-year-old Willie Gshwend has been upgraded from critical to serious condition.

Russell Jephcott works nearby, and he tells us he saw the crash. "I saw the car hit the northbound overpass and then it rolled down in between the overpasses into the ditch," said Jephcott.

Police closed 98th Street for three hours Saturday afternoon and it re-opened around 4 p.m.

Police are looking for a white Dodge pick-up that may have been involved in this wreck. If you saw this wreck or have any information that could help authorities, you are asked to call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
