LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - No official invites have been announced, but new reports say a representative from the Pac 10 met with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University leaders Saturday.
The Oklahoman newspaper says a source who knows about the negotiations told them Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott flew to Oklahoma City Saturday, presumably to hand out invites to the conference.
The same report says Scott will fly to Texas to meet with leaders from Texas Tech, Texas, and Texas A&M Universities this weekend as well. KCBD is in contact with Tech leaders, and right now they're not confirming a meeting.
When asked about the reports, U-T's athletic director told reporters "could be". The Texas Tech and U-T Board of Regents will meet Tuesday to talk about conference affiliation.
This follows Colorado's move to the Pac 10. They accepted the invite Thursday, but won't switch until 2012.
Meanwhile, Nebraska decided Friday to move to the Big 10 in 2011. We'll continue to follow the latest developments on this unfolding story.
