High probability of thunderstorms across the South Plains

LUBBOCK, TX(KCBD)- On this Flag Day there is a high probability of thunderstorms, some with heavy rain and possibly severe weather. The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for central and eastern areas of the KCBD viewing area, including Lubbock, until midnight.

This afternoon and evening scattered strong thunderstorms, some with heavy rain and a slight threat of severe weather. Otherwise mostly cloudy, breezy, cooler. Today's high in the mid to upper 80s.

Tonight there is a chance of scattered thunderstorms with a slight severe threat, and there may be heavy rain. Skies will be cloudy and temperatures will be cooler, with an overnight low in the mid 60s.

Tuesday a chance of thunderstorms with a slight severe threat, mostly cloudy. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

Wednesday will have partly cloudy skies in store and temperatures will be hot. There is a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms. The high will be in the mid 90s.

The sunny skies continue into Thursday with hot temperatures in the mid to upper 90s.
