Ceremonies will be held Tuesday for the start of the Marsha Sharp Freeway. Barricades and contruction can already be seen along the West Loop 289. And most of the traffic has been reduced to one lane.
Public information officer for TEX-Dot Penny Mason says drivers should watch for detours and speed limit changes. Tuesday's groundbreaking is open to the public and begins at 4 p.m.
Mason says this first phase of the project should take about two years.
