Slight severe threat for the South Plains

LUBBOCK, TX(KCBD)- This afternoon the chance for thunderstorms continues with a slight severe threat and risk of heavy rain. Today's high temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 80s. Tonight expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight severe threat of thunderstorms and a risk of heavy rain. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s.

Partly cloudy skies and a hot afternoon are on the check list for Wednesday, with a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms and a high in the mid 90s.

Skies will be sunny on Thursday and temperatures warm with highs in the mid to upper 90s.

High will be in the upper 90s again for Friday along with mostly sunny skies.
