Lubbock 4th graders got a chance to use their green thumbs Tuesday, in an effort to beautify Lubbock. Wester Elementary students put in plants at the City Street Department. The plants are low maintenance and require less water than most. The goal was to teach the kids how to conserve water and use recycled materials.
The learning continued at Wheelock Elementary, only this time the lesson was fire safety. The Lubbock Fire Department brought its firehouse to the school. The building teaches kids how to escape from a burning house.
