Lamesa man dead and brother-in-law in jail after shooting

LAMESA, TX (KCBD) - A shooting Saturday night leaves one man dead and his brother-in-law in jail. The shooting happened at an apartment in the 500 block of South Akron in Lamesa around 11:30 Saturday night.

Joe Louis Rodriguez, 37, was transported by Dawson County EMS from the apartment complex to the Medical Arts Hospital emergency room where he later died.

Richard Flores, 22, was arrested after the shooting and placed in Dawson County Jail where he was arraigned on the murder charge Sunday morning. Bond was set at $200,000.
