LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An arrest warrant sheds some light on what happened to a Lubbock mother before she was found dead.
Just a little more than a week ago 27 year old Amanda Moreno was found by her own brother, murdered in her central Lubbock home. The warrant states she was found on a bed, with blood on her hands and hair.
It goes on to say once the brother found his sister dead, he went outside and said "He killed her". Moreno lived with her boyfriend 35 year old Anthony Torres, who has a history of domestic violence.
Police issued a nationwide amber alert for her two young daughters who were missing, but they were later found safe with Torres, a few hours after the discovery of Moreno's body.
Torres was arrested and charged with her murder and according to his arrest warrant he beat and choked her to death. The warrant also states she died on or about June 11th, which was two days before she was found.
According to documents, the brother and his girlfriend went by Moreno's home on June 12th.
They had a key to get in, but said the door was chained and a couch was in front of the door. Torres remains in the Lubbock County jail on a $250,000 bond charged with murder.
