How you can help to get the new Lubbock homeless shelter up and running

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Tuesday, KCBD NewsChannel 11 told you about a new effort to help the growing homeless population in Lubbock.

The Lubbock Rescue Mission is a brand new non-profit organization that is working towards building the Hub City a homeless shelter. The facility will not only give people a place to live, but also offer GED classes and work search programs.

Since the story aired, many of you have called asking how you can help with this new mission.

They will be holding their first benefit this Saturday at Overton Park. It will be from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  There will be barbeque, music, ministry and a silent auction will be held. If you would like to help out, contact Director Pandy Bell at (806) 281-2113.
