LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – There's a very interesting development in the case of a Lubbock pastor who admits to soliciting an underage girl over the Internet.

Dean Richard Tarkington will be sentenced at a later date for the case that involves an undercover sting in Louisiana. Tarkington admitted back in March that he used his church-issued computer to search for pornography. But authorities also seized a personal computer as well.  Tarkington's wife and the church both want the computers back.

His wife says in court records the computer has family and business information that is not backed up. The Word Of Faith Christian Center Church, which no longer has a Lubbock location, claims in court records that important church business information is also at stake.

Thursday the federal judge ruled that the request from Word Of Faith will not be considered due to a technicality.  Nothing in the order prevents the church from asking again once the technicality is resolved.

We'll give you another update when the judge makes a ruling.
