One Death, One Injury in Motorcycle Accident

One person died and another was in critical condition Friday after their motorcycle collided with an 18-wheeler.

The accident happened at the East Loop and Idalou Highway around 11:30am. Captain Richard Foster says the semi stopped at a stop sign, but then pulled into the intersection. The motorcycle then slammed into the rear tires of the truck.

The driver, Larry Don Grizzell of Slaton, died at the scene. His passenger, Anthony Tims of Lubbock, was in critical condition Friday night at UMC. Foster says neither man was wearing a helmet. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
