A two car accident Sunday afternoon sent two people to the hospital. It happened around 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of 19th St. and the I-27 access road.
According to police, the driver of the white Ford Explorer was headed east on 19th St. and the driver of the white Grand Am was northbound on the access road.
There were conflicting witness reports as to what happened, but most said the driver of the Explorer ran a red light causing the collision. Fire fighters had to use the Jaws to remove the driver.
He was transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries. The driver of the Grand Am was also transported with minor injuries.
