Lubbock airport providing hurricane shelter for Navy planes

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock's airport is providing temporary shelter from Hurricane Alex for some military planes.

Navy planes from Corpus Christi arrived Tuesday to escape the dangerous weather hazards from Hurricane Alex. Lubbock Airport Aviation Director James Loomis says he is happy to help and is glad the planes are out of harms way.

There are more than twenty planes waiting for orders to head back as soon as it is safe.
