LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The demolition of the 4th and I-27 bridge will cause traffic delays for the 4th on Broadway event this weekend. Police will be on hand to detour traffic.
Broadway Festivals chairperson, Suzanne Comer says in past years the bridge was always blocked to enter McKenzie park, however, leaving the festivities this year will be an issue. "If they're going to the park for the fireworks in the evening concert down Avenue A and Broadway. Get off there instead of the 4th street exit."
Comer says police will be directing traffic after the event. "We've got at least a little plan working with the police department with the barricades. So we have at least a plan to get a different route to get out."
The 4th of July festivities start Saturday July 3rd.
