Summer chef camp at TTU hosts Iron Chef Competition

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The first ever Iron Chef Competition was hosted at the chef camp at Texas Tech University. The summer camp participants learned about foods from around the world. They also learned how to present, style and photograph the food.

The Texas Tech College of Human Sciences hosted about 40 students in grades 9 to 12. The camp offered two sessions, the first was June 21 to June 25, and the second June 28 to July 2.

The competition was judged by faculty from the Department of Nutrition, Hospitality and Retailing and a chef from Hospitality Services. The other activities included baking breads, cakes, and creating party appetizers.
