Running a Stop Sign Proves Fatal for Smyer Man - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

One man died Monday morning when two semi trucks collided near Smyer. It happened at the intersection of Farm Roads 168 and 1294 where a DPS Trooper says the driver of the semi going North on FM168 ran the stop sign, slamming into the trailer of the other 18-wheeler.  

The driver DPS says ran the stop sign, 42-year-old Richard Alvin Smith of Smyer, died at the scene.  EMS took the other driver, 50-year-old Felipe Soto of Levelland, to UMC with serious injuries.
