LITTLEFIELD, TX (KCBD) - At least one person is dead after a fire in Littlefield Friday afternoon.

Firefighters from Littlefield and other surrounding communities started fighting the blaze at around 3 p.m. at 101 East 4th Street.  At 9:45 p.m., Levelland firefighters assembled to go help and at that time KCBD NewsChannel 11 was told the building was still on fire.

The South Plains Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to assist seven adults and one child left homeless in the fire. The Red Cross also helped firefighters with food.

A KCBD NewsChannel 11 photojournalist was on the scene Friday night. We hope to have more details and video during KCBD NewsChannel 11 at 6 & 10 Saturday.
