Umbrellas in hand, folks head out to 4th on Broadway parade

Lubbock, TX (KCBD) – Many people across the Hub City were not going to let a little rain stand in the way of enjoying the 4th on Broadway parade. They brought their rain boots, umbrellas and ponchos and lined the parade route.

Not nearly as many people packed Broadway as they have in years past which could dampen many non-profit organizations hopes of raising money during the street fair.

"We usually make about two thousand dollars which goes to send the kids in our youth group to summer camps," said Jimmy Lucero with Fusion Youth Group who hopes to just make up the money he spent on supplies.

The Tech Terrace U.N.I.T. ditched their lawnmowers for something a little more aquatic. They carried noodles and wore kiddy pools around their waists and performed a synchronized dance.
