ROSWELL, NM (KCBD) - Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler announced Friday that a Magistrate Judge in Roswell determined that probable cause exists in a reopened Chaves County cold-case homicide.

Ramon Bravo, 37, is now awaiting trial on one count of First Degree Murder and one count of Aggravated Burglary for the 2003 murder of his estranged wife Susan Amos-Bravo.  She was found dead inside of her Roswell home in April of 2003.

The case was referred to the Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office earlier this year for review and investigation, and Ninth Judicial District Attorney Matthew Chandler was appointed as a special prosecutor in the matter.

"Testimony was presented in the probable cause hearing today from seven witnesses.  The Court found that there is probable cause to charge Ramon Bravo with the 2003 murder and an arraignment hearing will be set within the next 45 days.  Bravo is currently being held in Chaves County Adult Detention Center on a $500,000 cash bond," Chandler said.
