MULESHOE, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Rangers try to figure out who gun downed a Muleshoe teenager on the Fourth of July.
These were not the kinds of flashing lights the people of Muleshoe expected for the Fourth of July.
"Cops everywhere, down the street and the allies. It was cops everywhere," said neighbor Carlos Bostiolos.
He later found out someone had shot and killed his former classmate and friend 19 year old Rolando Sauceda.
"I was in shock, I didn't think that would ever happen to a friend of ours," adds Bostiolos.
Neighbors say there were at least 20 gun shots in this shooting.
"We are chasing out several possible scenarios, so no particular person or group of individuals have been specified as of interest at this particular time," says Muleshoe Police Chief Brian Frieda.
According to investigators 18 of those gun shots went in the direction of a next door neighbor's house.
"When they told me that there was a shooting, I took off back inside the house and checked on my kids. That was the first thing that came to mind. They were all alright, thanks to God," says neighbor Edgar Lopez.
While law enforcement focuses on collecting evidence, people on the block pray for a break in the case soon.
