LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech first baseman Barrett Barnes has swept freshman All-American honors as he was named to the Baseball America First-Team Freshman All-America squad.
Barnes, from Sugarland, Texas, was also selected as a Louisville Slugger and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association First-Team Freshman All-American. He collected 53 RBIs and 19 doubles this season, led the team with a .341 batting average, and picked up the Big 12's Freshman of the Year award to cap a phenomenal freshman season.
