City Cuts Costs By Shortening Hours Of Service At Lubbock Municipal Court

Effective June 3rd, the City of Lubbock Municipal Court will change its hours of operation for the Court cashiers. The new hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cashiers currently work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. "We're making this change to reduce our budget," said Judge Robert Doty. "This will eliminate overtime for the cashiers."

Four cashiers work daily, and the windows are open during the lunch hour. "We want to remind citizens they can pay parking tickets online and they also can mail in their payments," said Doty. "We anticipate this change will cause minimum inconvenience once people get used to the new hours."
