Man accused in Wal Mart shooting pleads not guilty

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Sultan Al Bizri, 23, pleaded not guilty Monday morning in Lubbock federal court.

At the federal level, he is accused of firearms violations. At the state level he is accused of assault in the January shooting of Devon Napper, 20.

Napper survived several gunshot wounds in the parking lot of Wal Mart at 4th & Frankford. Police said at the time that Al-Bizri rear-ended Napper in the nearby Taco Bell drive thru. Napper told police he followed Al-Bizri to the Walmart parking lot where there was an argument and then shots fired.

Monday the federal magistrate set Al Bizri's trial date as August 16th.
