LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock landfill is back open after muddy conditions closed it Thursday morning.
"We had a contingency plan, had that working and in place, but then last night with another inch of rain fall here at the landfill we had to go back and kind of rework our operations for today," said Catrennia Williamson, Environmental Compliance Specialist.
Williamson says they've had a rough time out at the landfill in the past two weeks with more than seven-inches of rain. Still, they were able to reopen Thursday afternoon and plan to have trash collection back on track for Friday.
