LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – KCBD NewsChannel 11 continues following developments after a dog attack this week that injured an elderly Lubbock woman.  On Wednesday two stray dogs attacked Sam Windfield, 83, as she tried to protect her cat. Windfield is recovering, but the cat is at a local vet's office in very bad shape.

Windfield's family is trying to find the two dogs quickly because there's a nine day deadline for getting rabies shots if the dogs cannot be found.

The first one is described as a large black pit-bull/boxer mix, with a collar and a tag. The second one is a smaller white pit-bull with black spots on her shoulder and pink eyes. She is described as a nursing mother.

The family asks that if you see the dogs please call animal control.  That number is (806)-775-2057 or just dial 3-1-1.
