2010 Red Raider Fan Day set for August 14th

LUBBOCK, TX As the excitement builds for the first football season of the Tommy Tuberville era at Texas Tech, fans will get their first chance to meet the 2010 Red Raiders at this year's Red Raider Fan Day.

This year's event, which will also include the women's volleyball team, will be moved from the floor of Jones AT&T Stadium to the concourses at the United Spirit Arena.  Red Raider Fan Day will run from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 14.  Doors will open at 2 p.m. and the event will close promptly at 4 p.m. due to the teams having to report for other preseason related activities.  Fans can begin lining up prior to 2 p.m. at the northwest entrance to the United Spirit Arena.

Due to the limited time of the event and to make sure that all fans get at least one item signed, only one autograph item per person will be allowed.  The arena public address system will keep fans informed about the time remaining in the autograph session so that as many autographs can be obtained as possible.  Fans are welcome to take snapshots of players and coaches but due to the limited time frame, no posed photos with players and coaches will be allowed.

Texas Tech will provide 2,500 limited edition Kent Gamble Red Raider Football posters featuring new head coach Tommy Tuberville as well as football schedule cards and posters.  Outside items such as t-shirts, hats, photos, footballs, helmets and other items will also be allowed.

The athletic department's new concession partner, Ovations, will be providing complimentary soft drinks and popcorn to fans in attendance.  Fans will also have the opportunity to learn about the exciting new options for concessions at football and men's and women's basketball.
