PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - A Hale County Commissioner awaits his punishment, after a jury found him guilty of theft Friday. Gary Koelder faces up to a year in county jail for the charge that involves buying car parts for personal vehicles with county money.
The Plainview Daily Herald reports that Koelder chose to have a judge decide his punishment, instead of a jury. That will happen next week.
Koelder still faces another trial for misconduct.
