LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Littlefield man sues Bayer Crop Science, saying his firing was racially motivated. Pete Cristan filed sued in Lamb County but the case was moved last week to Lubbock federal court.  Cristan claims that in the months prior to his firing, the company's area manager referred to Cristan many times as a "dumb Mexican" or "stupid Mexican."

Bayer Crop Science denies the allegations in court records but says if such comments were made by its manager then it's protected as free speech under the Texas and U.S. Constitutions. The company also claims that it cannot be held responsible for unauthorized gossip by employees or supervisors.
