11 people were left without a home Saturday after a fire spread through an apartment quadraplex. According to Captain Marlin Hamilton with the Lubbock Fire Department, the fire started in the kitchen of unit 14 at the West Wind Apartments just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
It then spread to the other three apartments. Eight people are getting assistance from Red Cross, while the other three are staying with friends or family.
There is more than $17,000 in damages. No one was injured in the blaze.
