Thousands of Texas Tech students were finally awarded for their years of hard work. On Saturday, Tech held Spring Commencement Ceremonies at the United Spirit Arena.
More than 2,300 graduates received their bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degrees.
Among those receiving a bachelor's degree Saturday morning was William Whitfield of Plainview. After 65 years, William went back to college to get his degree in history because he says he's lived most of it.
He graduated Saturday at the age of 82. The crowd went to their feet as William received a standing ovation when his name was called.
