Police investigating Lubbock woman found locked in closet, tied up

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police Department continues to investigate after a woman was found tied up and locked in a closet.

A case worker with Adult Protective Services was making a routine visit when she found the woman Monday morning at a home in southwest Lubbock. The case worker went to the client's home and found the front door open. The case worker called out to the client and she heard the word "help."

The case worker found the woman in the closet with her hands tied and the closet door was blocked. According to Greg Cunningham with the Department of Family and Protective Services, the woman in the closet called 9-1-1.

Lubbock Police are still investigating the situation and tell KCBD NewsChannel 11 that others should not be concerned. They believe the person responsible is someone the woman knows. The name of the victim has not been released.

We will continue to follow this story and will bring you the latest as it becomes available.
