Grandmother charged with lying to police about murder suspects

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock grandmother remains jailed, charged with hindering the arrest of her two grandsons who are suspects in a Lubbock murder case.

Investigators say that Janis Swanson, 53, dropped her grandsons off a bus station in Amarillo. New Mexico authorities identified the suspects as Clarence King, 16, and his brother Jakey Ayers, 15. They're accused in the May shooting death Marcus Lewis. Lewis was found shot dead on May 23rd at his home near Erskine and North Frankford.

Investigators think the suspects could be hiding in New Mexico, because their mother lives in Albuquerque.  They remain on the run. Charity Wilcots, 21, is already charged in the murder. She remains jailed in Lubbock.
