LITTLEFIELD, TX (KCBD) - The trial of a Lamb County man, charged with beating another man to death and then dragging him behind a car has been postponed.
Mickey Birchfield, 52 is charged with the murder of Ronald Bures, 52. Bures' body was discovered near Hale Center last July.
Authorities charged Birchfield and Brad Halderman, 54 in the crime. Investigators say the three men were roommates, and that Birchfield and Halderman beat Bures to death and then dragged his body behind a car for three miles from Lamb County into Hale County.
A jury found Halderman guilty of tampering with evidence back in May and sentenced him to 20-years in prison.
Birchfield's trial was scheduled to start this week, but has been pushed back to September.
