LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Most women think if they had a c-section with the first baby, then they're destined to have that same kind of delivery if they get pregnant again. However, new guidelines were released Wednesday by the American College of OB-GYNS suggest that is just a myth.
They say even women with two previous c-sections, women carrying twins or those with an unknown type of uterine scar can now attempt a natural birth. The rate of c-section deliveries has skyrocketed over the past 40 years to almost one in three births today, which is why doctors are hoping to decrease that number. They say a natural delivery is always the safer option compared to surgery.
