Lubbock man has contraption to help with new water goals

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The weather doesn't always cooperate with Lubbock's brand new water conservation goals.

Karl Craig of Lubbock knows that and so he created a contraption to capture rain water and save it for a sunny day.  From there he runs it through a sprinkler to water his back yard. "If we have to give up a little watering of our yard then fine. I can spare the front yard but I want to keep the back yard. And that's what this is all about," Craig said.

Sunday night KCBD NewsChannel 11 broke the story that the city was about to adopt new conservation goals.  Then Thursday the city council gave the official okay on those goals to cut back five gallons per person per day.
