LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A 21-year-old is in custody, after leading authorities on an hour long chase through a Lubbock neighborhood Tuesday evening.

It started when a DPS State Trooper stopped a vehicle for expired registration. He arrested the driver, but a passenger fled.

The trooper called for backup, and authorities surrounded the neighborhood around 39th street and Knoxville, scaring some who live there.

"(There was) a chopper right on top of us, and it made me think that he was hiding in our storage shed or our garage. So, it was pretty scary," says one resident.

The suspect eventually broke into a building on 39th street and called police to turn himself in.

Ruben Segura now faces multiple charges, including burglary and evading arrest.
