LEVELLAND, TX (KCBD) - Levelland ISD recently received its TAKS scores and learned it could receive a recognized rating from the state this year.
"There are such high expectations to prepare kids well; TAKS is just one of the ways to measure that success. We really try to prepare our kids to be good citizens and be college and career ready as a district. So, the better job we can do in helping teachers, the better off kids will be in the long run," Levelland ISD Director of Curriculum and Instruction Heidi Blair said.
The spring scores improved for Levelland students, including above average math scores for the region. 8th graders had social studies scores that topped the region. The district will find out their rating in August.
