LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A three year old boy is alive after nearly drowning in the Ransom Canyon community swimming pool.

The Ransom Canyon Fire Department says the boy was walking around the party island pool when he fell in. They say he was at the bottom of the pool for 30 seconds before his mother noticed he was missing.

When the boy was pulled from the water, he was not breathing and blue.

Ransom Canyon Fire and EMS responded quickly and were able to start performing CPR. "They got him back he was responsive whenever they took him into Aerocare, so he was coming back in good shape," said Steve Fuller with RAnsom Canyon Fire and EMS.

The boy was taken to Covenant Hospital.
