Summer Heat Arrives

LUBBOCK,TX(KCBD)- Sizzling summer heat ushers in "The Dog Days of Summer", welcome to August. Today will again be partly cloudy, and very hot. Highs on the South Plains will hit the mid and upper 90s, and east of the Caprock on the Low Rolling Plains upper 90s to around 102 degrees. An isolated thundershower or two are possible western areas near the TX-NM state line.

Tonight partly cloudy and very warm, with temperatures dipping to near 70 degrees by morning.

Monday and Tuesday will be sunny with sizzling afternoons. High temperatures will range from the upper 90s on the South Plains to 100 to 105 degrees east of the Caprock.
