LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock celebrates National Night Out this week. The kickoff hosted by LUNA or the Lubbock United Neighborhood Association will be Tuesday at 6:00 PM in Clapp Park, 4500 Avenue U.
The idea of National Night Out is to encourage neighbors to pay attention to criminal activities in their neighborhoods, and to take the opportunity to get to know their neighbors. Lubbock's Mayor and City Council are expected to attend. Individual neighborhood associations are also hosting events Tuesday night such as Arnett-Benson, Chatman Hill, Guadalupe, Heart of Lubbock, North By Northwest, Overton and Preston Smith Neighborhood Associations. Wolfforth Police are also hosting National Night Out at Patterson Park.
