LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock woman is indicted in El Paso Federal Court for both Conspiracy and Possession With Intent To Distribute A Controlled Substance.  Brittnie Stone, 27, was held Monday in the Lubbock County jail.

Court records say she and Douglas Daniels were traveling from El Paso to Hobbs New Mexico when they were stopped in a routine traffic checkpoint by U.S. Border Patrol.  Court records say Daniels was carrying marijuana in the vehicle and Stone was carrying methamphetamine in packs that she had taped to her left leg.  Court records say the two bundles weighed 1.39 pounds.

Stone was appointed a public defender in Lubbock federal court and public records indicate that further proceedings will be in El Paso.  The indictment was sealed back in Mid-may and only recently unsealed with Stone's arrest last week in Lubbock.
