Police say gunman, others killed in workplace shooting

MANCHESTER, Conn. (AP) - There's still no word on how many people were killed in a shooting this morning at a beer distributor in Connecticut.

Authorities say they're notifying victims' relatives before releasing that information.

Police say the gunman and several other people are dead, and others are wounded.

At least one person died at Hartford Hospital. A hospital spokeswoman says another victim taken there was in critical condition, and one was in fair condition.

A company executive says a warehouse driver who was asked to resign refused, then opened fire. He says about 50 to 70 people were in the warehouse because it was a shift change.

Adding to the chaos was a fire at the warehouse, about 10 miles east of Hartford, that has been put out.
